Founded in Edinburgh, The Lodge of Journeymen Masons, No. 8, is one of Scotland’s historic operative lodges — born not of privilege, but of principle. Our story is rooted in the working craft of stonemasons who built this city, and in a tradition of lawful independence that has shaped our character ever since.
We honour that inheritance not as museum-keepers, but as working men of goodwill.
